WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will show an item upgrade level upgrade (just click the following page)'s preview at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item upgrader mod slot and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in many places on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via various methods which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This is true regardless of whether the items come from a different set of equipment.

The discount is available to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have a variety of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be spent on equipment that is of a particular rank, and that each rank has its own requirements for its upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader for the item upgrader mod like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest upgrade items level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
