1. Roomba Combo j9+
The Roomba Combo J9+ is an all-in-one robot mop and vacuum cleaner that is among the most advanced available. It has an elegant self-emptying Clean Base that can hold up to two mopping cycles at a time and is designed to resemble a tiny table. It is also the only robot we have tested with an onboard reservoir that automatically washes and replenishes the pads for cleaning after each vacuum and mopping cycle.
The mopping arm rests quietly on top of the unit until it spots hard floors, then lowers to begin scrubs. It moves slowly and cautiously over surfaces so it doesn't accidentally smear wet spills or mud across carpeted areas. It does a good job of staying out of the way of cords, furniture, and other obstacles.
It's more intelligent than other robot vacuums, too, thanks to the iRobot Home app, which allows you to customize your cleaner's settings prioritize rooms based on dirtiness, set schedules and cleaning times and more. The app also provides detailed maps of your home, seasonal recommendations, custom cleaning routines, and a variety of smart-home integrations that are easy to use.
This robot-vac and mop is based on iRobot's Imprint Smart Mapping technology to identify objects, like counters, sofas and tables. It can be controlled with Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri making it simple to keep your home clean.
Contrary to other mopping and vacuum robots like the Roomba J9+ makes an entire map of your home seven times faster than previous models and labels each area by floor type, ensuring that it will always remember to mop or vacuum the area you want. It also features an iRobot Turbo Mode that boosts suction for areas that are difficult to reach. With iRobot’s Dirt Detective it can learn about your habits of cleaning and adjust the cleaning priorities and settings for the dirtiest areas of your home.

To get started with the M12 software, download and open the Yeedi app and follow the instructions on screen to connect to your Wi-Fi network. Once connected, you'll be asked to give your robot a unique name. The M12 only works with 2.4GHz networks.
The M12 provides a variety of cleaning options for vacuuming and mopping. Its clever design lets it map a room in just six minutes and adjust its cleaning path accordingly. Its mopping technology is advanced and includes two spinning pads, with electronically controlled water as well as a "True Edge Adaptive Edge Mopping System" that helps ensure thorough cleaning of all edges of the floor.
Navigation-wise, the M12 uses LiDAR and IR to avoid obstacles. The sensors are capable of finding larger objects, such as HVAC vents and furniture. They may struggle to find smaller objects, such as cables or small rags. This could cause the robots to miss areas.
The M12's built-in inclinometer allows it to sense and navigate up and down stairs. It also has the ability to automatically return to its OMNI Station to wash and dry mop brushes and replenish its water tank. When the batteries are depleted it can OMNI station can even automatically empty the bin of dust and clean itself.
3. Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra
The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra is the cutting-edge in robot cleaning, packing an amazing quantity of features in an attractive package. It has the highest mopping capacity and a camera that can be used for improved obstacle avoidance and a powerful vacuum with the ability to sense when it's going over carpets. It also comes with advanced technology and voice assistant features.
It performs impressively as a mop and vacuum, completing our 1,500 square foot test area in about 101 minutes before running out of battery and returning to its dock. Its mop is automatically cleaned between uses. This feature reduces costs for maintenance while keeping the pads clean. A dock sensor detects when a mop's pad becomes dirty and initiates a wash cycle.
Like its predecessors and its predecessors, like its predecessors, the S8 MaxV Ultra features an intelligent system that recognizes objects of the home, such as shoes and pet waste with a camera + LIDAR combo. It did well during our obstacle avoidance test, with only one glitch (it got stuck when unwinding a ball that was tangled around its brush arm).
The S8 MaxV Ultra comes with a brand new suction power of 10,000pa. power, more than double its predecessor. This makes it a great choice for homes that have a lot of carpeting and different types of flooring. The vacuum can also be programmed to automatically increase suction when it's moving dirt or crumbs.
Similar to the previous models, multiple docking stations are able to be set up to make it easier to clean and mop process. The docking station can be connected to the plumbing system and will drain and replenish the water tank when you're done.

It can also be programmed to automatically lift its front side brush upon detecting wet areas, and then clean debris from baseboards and corners.
The X40 Ultra is easy to set up and operate, with an intuitive and simple app and a broad range of features. It is quieter than many corded vacuums and only occasional low hums from its motor, and occasional bursts of suction during cleaning. Its navigation system, which makes use of a camera and 3D structured lights, multiple lasers and a 3D-structured light to detect and avoid obstructions and obstacles, is awe-inspiring. This helps the X40 Ultra receive one of the top scores in our tests for obstacles to avoid.
5. Eufy S1 Pro
The Eufy S1 Pro is an impressively powerful mop and vacuum combination that was designed to be easy for users. The gunmetal base station automatically fills its own tank of clean water, empties the dust bin into a smaller container and washes and drys its own mop pads during cleaning sessions. It comes with advanced features that allow it to switch between hard and carpet surfaces, and remove pet hair from carpets and clean raised room thresholds.
The S1 Pro has excellent navigation and mapping capabilities, thanks to its internal dToF system. It is able to maintain an unobtrusive appearance while providing the best in object detection. It can drive close to walls without hitting them and avoids steps, and can also raise its mop when driving over rugs or short-pile carpets. However, it struggled with longer-pile carpets as well as some long, thick messes of dried-on debris.
The S1 Pro is ready to go straight out of the box and it requires only a quick mapping run to get to know your home. After that, the map is displayed in the app and rooms can be added or combined when needed. You can also set virtual boundaries as well as no-go zones if there's something you do not want the robot to get into.
The S1 Pro does a great job of cleaning up spills from hard floors, thanks to its rotating mop head, which puts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability to vacuum and mop is a great option for homes with both types of flooring, but its reliance on a Eufy-branded cleaning product (which is included in the box) can make it less flexible than some other robots that allow you to add your own solutions.
