World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all the upgraded benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the number of perks that have to be modified to upgrade an item.

It can also be used as a gating requirement when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It can also be used to limit how much PvP gear players can use since PvP is not available at a lower level. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell equipment players can look at the level of an item. It's a good indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it's capable of dealing with. The level of an item can be used to compare items when evaluating the inventory of a vendor.

The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on a PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories on how the calculation of an item's level is made. One theory says that the level of an item is calculated by formulas that determine the worth of the stats of an item really are. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and that sockets have gems that increase the item's overall value. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is often very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.

This isn't the only thing that affects the value of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped can change its stats. For example it can increase the item level upgrade's haste or crit score. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the Best item upgrader." The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modifications which are then boosted by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade item upgrade (her response) cost. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.

Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to provide items with extra damage, special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to differentiate them by naming them.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold and items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other rerolling options.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, but every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it's a unique item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another thing that could be changed by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes, or selecting which stats to increase. As with base equipment, it will have to be done per item and the item comparison interface wouldn't display all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the chances of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops and the strength of the properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is especially beneficial for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each item level. They can also be increased by using anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that deals damage by 5percent. These items can be purchased in the shops or made with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item in the event that it does not work.

The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of completing the upgrade successfully and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.

The luck of an item may affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have a base success rate of 25% and each item with Luck increases that chance by an additional 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects can be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
