The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the chance of finding items and the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous in the early game, since players tend to prioritize weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each level of the item. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be created or spawned using the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) to add another 40 luck, or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Moreover there are certain items, like the Hollow infused weapon can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shops or made with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are costly and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading the item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to how much the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%..

The success of an item upgrades (Read Homepage) is also influenced by the luck of that item. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be obscured by them.
