Governor JB Pritzker accompanied by representatives of his organization, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network and local officials today in Chicago to inaugurate CZ Biohub Chicago - a revolutionary research hub located at the forefront of leading scientific studies. Governor JB Pritzker and Flender Corporation recently announced they have expanded their factory in Elgin which will create 50 full-time positions while keeping 140 existing full-time positions intact.




The Illinois Small Business Development Center at Southern Illinois University is funded by a co-operative arrangement between U.S. Small Business Administration, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Southern Illinois University. The Center assists local entrepreneurs with assistance for starting or expanding their businesses through services such as free business planning workshops and one-on-one sessions with expert Business Advisors, and access to financing options.




State officials in Indiana are pushing employers to offer better pay and benefits as a way to keep child care workers employed nationwide which is a problem due to a shortage of work. The move comes after the closing of a children's care center in Bronzeville which was struggling to retain staff.




Illinois Department of Labor also launched an online tool designed to provide small-sized businesses with information on employment laws. Employers are able to search using keywords or browse categories on the site; as well as connect with state agencies and resources.
