The 10 Most Scariest Things About Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills or staining) in one go without having to swap out devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its affordable price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For instance, you can decide to let the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only issue it has is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. It's not like the model from last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other best robotic mop and vacuum cleaners may miss.
This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then automatically change its direction and clean the objects without a pause.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can change the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on market, with a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated.
