We had the opportunity to test drive the EV9 for several hours on a local freeway, and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth on bumps and ruts, while the EV9 does a great job of reducing wind and road noise on the highway. The car's acceleration is surprisingly quick, and it has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one-pedal driving" simply by releasing the accelerator.
The EV9 provides a large range and can be recharged in three hours or less at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver can choose from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode focuses on the green power electric mobility scooter as well as cruise control and handling, while sport mode increases speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and provide an experience unlike any other for those who have not driven an electric vehicle before.
